We're so proud! Felita Creekmore, our assisted living administrator, has been appointed to the Board of Long-Term Care Administrators for Virginia. Glenn Youngkin, the Governor of Virginia, reached out to her a few weeks ago, and she was sworn in last week by Randy Carter, Clerk of Circuit Court, for a four-year term. Congratulations, Felita!

The Virginia Board of Long-Term Care Administrators consists of a 9-member Board and administrative, enforcement, licensing, and support staff. They regulate nursing home administrators, nursing home preceptors, assisted living facility administrators, and assisted living facility preceptors and ensure safe and competent patient care by licensing health professionals, enforcing standards of practice, and providing information to health care practitioners and the public.

Yesterday, we paid tribute to our veterans with a full slate of events and activities! We began with the color guard from Lakeland High School (Suffolk, VA)'s JROTC group, enjoyed music from Phil Lilly, took in a presentation on honor, potential, and true wealth by Dr. Belinda Moss, and spotlighted veterans with Frank Labrecque, US Army Lt. Col. [ret]. Finally, we capped off the day with a hearty buffet following the ceremony! Lake Prince Woods has a wealth of veterans among our residents and staff, and we're sincerely grateful for their selfless service and countless sacrifices. #lakeprincewoods #seniorliving #retirementcommunity #VeteransDay2024 #HonoringVeterans #usarmedforces #suffolkva #GodBlessAmerica ... Last week, a group of our assisted living residents visited the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts to see the 'Transcending Traditions' exhibit. The paintings from a variety of local artists were created in response to the questions of What constitutes tradition? and What does it mean to leave a legacy? The paintings also consider the concepts of community, family, and passing on traditions to future generations. Our group loved exploring the different works and contemplating the ideas being expressed. The timing of our scheduled tour also meant that we were the first visitors to see the brand-new exhibit! #lakeprincewoods #seniorliving #retirementcommunty #assistedliving #fieldtrip #artexhibit #suffolkva #tradition ...
