This past week, we hosted an American Red Cross blood drive and did our part to make blood products available to people in need – especially as the holidays approach! Amy Henry, our director of resident services, donated for the first time, which is a big deal! She was grateful for the support of these three Red Cross team members and for God's grace to make it possible. Lots of dedicated folks came out to donate, and we surpassed our goal of 16 units by collecting 23! A special shout-out to resident volunteer Gini Semler, who made tons of phone calls to fill the schedule with donors! #lakeprincewoods #retirementcommunity #seniorliving #blooddrive #firsttimedonor #suffolkva #communitysupport ... Despite its joys and kindnesses, the holiday season also comes with its fair share of scams and frauds. To help our residents grow in awareness of ways to protect themselves and their resources, members of the Suffolk Police Department came to campus to educate and inform. Thank you to Joan Turner, community outreach coordinator, and to Sergeant Butler and Sergeant Kee for sharing holiday safety tips with our residents.
